Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Advise and assist the SLT Team in the fulfillment of its obligation – Statutory, Cipla Global EHS, cGMP, Tech. & CE Standards or otherwise, concerning EHS & Sustainability Data Management
  • Timely acquisition & MIS publication on MySetu [equivalent] portal and the Compliance Portal, assuring data accuracy, integrity, traceability, and audit-ability.
  • Drive the EHS & S Data Management Strategic Initiative at the Site [a broad-based, companywide strategic EHS&S initiative, integrating EHS&S data throughout the company].
  •  Ensure data analytics and business insights to support the Site Leadership Team intake the data-based decision on continual improvement of the OH & S and Environmental Sustainability performance;  enhancing business performance and supporting the long-term interests of the enterprise

Key Accountabilities

Drive legal compliance to EHS and Cipla Global Standards

  • Ensure all the valid operational permits are in place by reviewing of currently available permits.
  • Review/ Draft applications for EHS licenses in line with the site activities or upcoming changes.
  • Maintain and update the site legal/permits register, document, and review the license against the application.
  • Ensure the license conditions are compiled by gap analysis and driving to bridge it through the activities of the team.
  • Ensure that facility is maintained as per EHS, CGMP, and corporate requirements.
  • Prepare and update the EHS calendar for renewals and EHS Monthly/Half-yearly/Annual returns and ensure their timely submission at the site.
  • Facilitate user remapping/ addition of new employees from the site in the compliance portal.
  • Review the portal for any updation or removal of conditions, if any & ensure that the Compliance portal is updated.
  • Tracking the completion status for the site on monthly basis and ensuring 100% on or before the due date.
  • Update the Legal licenses on the Dashboard.
  • Update the site-related documents, photographs, incidents, and events in the Dashboard.

EHS Audit Planning & Harmonization

  • Develop an Internal Audit program and plan EHS Audits to streamline audit execution for the year in compliance to the procedure
  • Evaluate and collect findings found and follow up for close-out of the open actions.
  • Analyze, review, and follow up on compliance reports to achieve an acceptable level of compliance in the manufacturing sites and corporate functions.

Thought Partnership, Governance  & External Bench Marking

  • Develops short- and long-term planning and budgeting.
  • Prepares and arranges EHS exhibits, presentations, and material for display, and meetings.
  • Be a thought partner to the Manufacturing and EHS leadership team vis a vis setting and tracking governance. Establishes and maintains information systems with internal and external stakeholders. Conduct a systematic assessment of internal assessment and external assessment data to highlight challenges/issues
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to assess emerging needs from a functional perspective and identify new initiatives that could be launched. Interact with external stakeholders to understand their requirements and consequently prioritize the SLT ‘s engagement with them.
  • Manage the environmental program (hazardous waste program, stormwater program, water reduction)
  • Conduct external benchmarking on OH&S and Environment Sustainability performance

EHS Program Management MIS & Analytics :

  • Review all incidents and accidents monthly in the Engineering & Projects along with the Site EHS Head and Site Head and generate consensus on mitigating them. Review near misses and incidents to analyze preparedness to adhere to Safety standards
  • Prepare and analyze incident documentation, and environmental parameters along with the justification for variations on monthly basis.
  • Generate Monthly report MIS for EHS&S KPIs. Coordinating with EHS&S data Management system partners where.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely closure for CAPA for incidents and Safety observations.
  • Record the variance with respect to the projects undertaken.
  • Continuously measure and monitor progress against EHS&S strategies, objectives, and performance targets. Provide Data Analytics & Insights.
  • Review and ensure the site dashboards for the Environment and safety data are updated.

External Reporting & Coordination

  • Be the Site SPOC for external audit partner on EHS&S data in the Integrated Report from Natural Capital and Human Capital.
  • Is responsible for the application and coordination of External Awards and Recognitions for EHS&S.

External Liaison

  • Support Site EHS Head in boundary management and external liaison / connect.

Other Execution Accountabilities

  • Any other job allocated by Site EHS Head.

Self Development of functional & leadership aspects

  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.

Major Challenges

  • Archiving of all inward and outward communications with Regulators.
  • System to be built to monitor the same.
