Job Description
Support Leads in developing a strategic roadmap related to IP by identifying and evaluating options for early market launch for strengthening the global market presence and penetration thereby assisting in the accomplishment of the company’s vision or goals
Accountabilities:
- Support product development by providing timely IP inputs to relevant stakeholders (RA, R&D, etc.) to ensure a smooth product launch
- Provide insights into patent litigation and opposition to align with product strategy in a cost-effective manner
- Undertake due diligence of products to apprise stakeholders about key patent rights to identify acquisition or early launch potential.
- Identify new product opportunities for driving portfolio selection and evaluate innovative ideas to identify new opportunities for patent protection/ development for differentiated product
- Conduct a patent search in order to determine patentable inventions and consequently file and prosecute patent applications for augmenting and bolstering patent estate
- Conduct patent invalidity searches for PIV projects
- Identify new product opportunities for driving portfolio selection and evaluate innovative ideas to identify new opportunities for patent protection/ development for differentiated product
Major Challenges:
- Changes in patent landscapes due to the dynamic nature of Intellectual Property Law.
Key Interactions:
- R&D for formulation-related and patent updates (need basis)
- RA for patent certifications/ amendments, label modifications, product strategies, etc. (on a need basis)
- Medical team for medical inputs, label modifications (need basis)
- Legal team (on a need basis) for reviewing commercial agreements
- Patent counsel for litigation matters (need basis)
- Vendors for seeking technical data required for patent evaluation (need basis)
Education Qualification:
Masters of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) preferably with a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law
Relevant Work Experience:
2-5 years experience in pharmaceutical Organization.
