Job Description

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining and implementing Business Excellence strategies, and deployment plans and ensuring plans are aligned and supportive to larger business strategies and goals
  • Responsible for leading Continuous improvement culture at the Jhagadia site focusing on Strategy cascade, Goal alignment, identifying early signals, problem-solving approach, and Improvement initiatives.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Responsible for designing and implementing improvement opportunities and events across the plant operations.
  • Expert in waste identification & elimination, cycle time reduction, and business performance improvement initiatives by establishing a sustainable model for continuous improvement.
  • Lead value stream mapping initiatives and improve the overall system performance by streamlining the information and material flow.
  • Facilitate and carry out strategic projects through green belt certifications, and kaizen events in line with Division OPEx policies & guidelines.
  • Provide primary support to business and functional leaders by identifying, prioritizing, and chartering improvement opportunities.
  • Champion of Opex Tools, Act as a change agent to instill a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate leaders in adopting standard work, Lean Six Sigma principle-based decision-making, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement Master Plan to implement Lean Management System throughout the manufacturing.
  • Standardize approach for usage of Lean/Six Sigma tools, and methods.
  • Ensure OE standards (e.g. DMAIC, Lean, Root Cause Analysis) are being used for problem-solving (tools and techniques) and continuous improvement.
  • Champion the use of KPI / metric management for data-based decision-making.
  • Identify and support individuals with interest in OE leading to the development/certification of future Yellow/Green/Black Belts.
  • Train/coach candidates on Lean and Six Sigma methods, support in project completion and certification. Strong Analytical, Coordination, and organization skills.
  • Partner with HR in conceptualizing and implementing an effective Reward & Recognition program for the Jhagadia site, monitoring and advocating continuous improvement Lead the Compliance Wire Training for the site team which includes finalization of training plans with functional lead and ensuring 100% compliance to plan.
  • Lead the Change Management programs for the site and ensure appropriate governance around problem-solving approach. Responsible for establishing a network with other Nutrition sites to exchange knowledge and best practice sharing.

Accountability / Scope:

  • This is one of the critical roles for the site and the role requires designing & implementing effective business excellence strategies and plans aligned to business and site goals
  • Lead the continuous improvement culture at the site through leading Management Business Reviews & Matrices, deployment of Opex tools, Best Practice sharing & replications, and putting robust governance around goals and achievement.
  • The role reports to Site Director.

Education & Experience:

  • Engineering Graduate with 15-20 years of experience in Manufacturing setup, out of which 5-7 years should be in a Management position.
  • Strong knowledge of Utility Operations & Maintenance and ETP operations and Compliance
  • Stakeholder management and Influencing skills.
  • Excellent Communications skills and ability to communicate across the levels.
  • Strong Knowledge of Problem-solving and Opex tools
