Job Description
Role Summary:
The Engineering Leader provides leadership, strategic direction, and tactical oversight to Projects and Engineering operations and the related support functions directly or indirectly
Primary accountabilities include developing and executing operating plans that lead to the achievement of the Engineering deliverables; making effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact the short and long-term plans site goals; developing and maintaining a cost-effective, competitive organization through effective organizational design, workforce planning, leadership and talent development, external stakeholder management, training, and performance management
Role & Responsibilities:
- Accountable for cGMP and ensure compliance with laid down SOPs, Quality Systems, and Safety Systems.
- To identify continuous improvement initiatives (process improvement, energy efficiency, etc.) and ensure to implementation them
- Develop and or enhance the engineering processes in the department
- Support and foster operational excellence across all functions – including Integrated Manufacturing Excellence – IMEx – implementation.
- Drive vendor network development for all engineering activity.
- To study & review standby facilities for critical sub-assemblies and the addition of capital equipment on a long-term basis for smooth operation
- To guide the team during breakdowns, troubleshooting and rectifying the basic causes in the shortest possible time
- Ensure product standards are met and implement quality-control programs
- Handling of new/expansion/improvement projects
- Ensuring Implementation of the Global Reliability Program (GRP), Energy and Climate Change Program (ECCP), and Capital projects per plan
- Ensure adherence to Safety and Health guidelines and drive initiatives for the Health, Safety, and Wellness of colleagues. Ensure safety first for all engineering activities
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including but not limited to other areas within the Pfizer supply network, external suppliers, local community and political entities, colleagues, and legal organizations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an effective organization through effective selection, training, leadership, and management.
- Assume leadership responsibilities for the implementation of network initiatives that drive results across Manufacturing and Site Operations.
- Continually evaluate best-in-class, technology, processes, and talent to ensure optimal supply to support continued growth in the commercial businesses.
- Ensure ethics and integrity through compliance/risk management.
- Make effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact both short and long-term goals

Qualifications:
Technical
- Must have experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing in sterile injectable operations.
- Knowledge of Engineering activities
- Evaluation of Tenders
- Engineering & utility equipment
- Project Management tools and techniques
- Quality Management Systems, Regulatory and Statutory Requirements Knowledge
- Safety knowledge
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience
- At least 15 years of directly related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including an experience in a leadership role in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of cGMPs specifically aseptic manufacturing and demonstrated success leading GMP-compliant operations and interacting with regulators.
- Knowledgeable of FDA compliance regulations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated aptitude and attitude to get immersed in the resolution of technical challenges and technical advancements.
- Ability to understand and utilize financial analyses to make good decisions in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives.
- Ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization
- Make effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact both short and long-term site goals
