Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Medical Excellence Manager will provide operational support to the center of excellence, emerging markets. This colleague will support the oncology therapeutic area in a broad range of business activities and will act as a subject matter expert for non-interventional studies in medical affairs processes.

Main Responsibilities:

Operational capabilities:

Customer Facing Medical Excellence (supporting BU Medical Teams)
  • Provide support to oncology for all customer-facing initiatives for EM Asia
  • Provide project management support to their medical teams in all medico-marketing programs/activities; duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Communicate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/service providers/agencies for the organization of various regional/country advisory boards/internal/external meetings
    • Maintain regional KOL tracker and update regular interactions with the KOLs
    • Oversee planning, organizing, and managing the progress of regional meetings/programs/projects as required and coordination with participating countries
    • Prepare briefing documents and contracts for KOLs when necessary
    • Meeting delegates management
    • Provide on-site logistics support
    • Perform all system applications (procurement and compliance) for projects, FMV calculation, observe individual country requirements
    • Proactively liaise with legal, compliance, and country profile owners to ensure all projects/activities are in compliance with policies and guidelines
    • Vendor/Supplier management, which includes collecting all necessary information and updating in the internal system; providing feedback, and monitor performances
    • Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with Pfizer Procurement, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption policies and procedures, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
    • Work independently to facilitate the smooth implementation and execution across all stages of projects, including updating project progress, attending regular project coordination meetings/calls, taking minutes at meetings/calls, responding to emails from external customers/vendors, and other follow-up actions
    • Initiate purchase orders, invitation letters, etc.
    • Oversee the accounting, costing, invoicing, and expense reconciliation
    • Work with countries’ finance on Inter-Company Cross Charge and for medical budgets
    • Tracking project budgets and expenses

Digital Innovation (supporting MA Manager-Digital Innovation)
  • Oversight of the Hema Hub portal and other digital projects related to oncology
  • Drive innovative ways to expand the use of digital technology internally and externally
Strategic One Pfizer Medical External Partnerships (supporting Pfizer scientific institute initiative)
  • Oversight and central co-ordination of stakeholder engagement plans for medical external partnerships in oncology
  • Management of regional scientific institute project
  • Provide specialist support for setting up strategic partnerships, ongoing oversight, and external liaison
Medical Affairs Processes NIS
  • Support center of excellence (CoE) for projects related to non-interventional studies
Financial and Budget management

Tracks invoices and payments related to EM Asia oncology and CoE to ensure that activities are appropriately reflected in our financial systems

Qualification & Experience

Must-Have
  • University degree in Science, Pharmacy, or Health Sciences/services (or equivalent)
  • At least four years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related field
  • Highly motivated with solid knowledge of medical marketing, clinical research, and regulatory requirements
  • Multi-linguicism is an advantage, fluency in English required
  • Knowledge and experience of the TA are highly preferable

  • Significant experience and specialist knowledge of medical affairs function, systems, and processes with a strong understanding of medical excellence

  • Ability to lead projects with strong project management skills
  • Strong digital skills with standard platforms and the ability to think innovatively to use digital technology in new ways both internally and externally
