Job Description
- Support Corporate Strategy function in developing the organization’s short-term and long-term strategy and planning, incubating new businesses, developing strategic alliances with the key stakeholders by conducting relevant analyses and business modeling, collating and analyzing inputs received from the different zones/ business units, horizontals (e.g. Respiratory, API, etc.) and the global business intelligence team to ensure continued profitability and growth for Cipla.
- The position should bring relevant opportunities to the attention of top leadership, which can help to meet organization objectives.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development of the organization’s overall short-term and long-term business strategy and planning to ensure continued profitability and growth for Cipla
- Proactively monitor and track on an ongoing basis , all internal and external events affecting the organization
- Proactively evaluate potential, novel growth strategies that build on the firm’s current business through expansion into new geographies, markets, therapeutic areas and related businesses
- Conduct relevant analyses and business modelling, collate and analyse inputs received from the different zones/ business units /passion areas
- Evaluate viable entry and investment approaches in close collaboration with the respective sub-function, create business plans and present recommendations to Chief Strategy Officer
- Formalizing the company’s strategic-planning processes, forging new working relationships and synergies across the organization
- Partner with the business unit / horizontal/function/ other companies across different geographies to ensure organizational objectives are met.
- As and when relevant, identify focus areas for Corporate strategy, articulate desired goals in such areas, and craft strategy to achieve such goals.
- Partner with BUs/ Functions to deliver projects related to passion/ identified areas.
- Establish alliances with other companies for possible partnership/ investment/ acquisition in chosen areas of interest for the organization to bring in critical capabilities/cutting-edge technology required to meet long-term business objectives
- Gauge business interest, medical, clinical, IPD, and other key parameters help in initial due diligence to bring the project to fruition
- Analyse, evaluate, and recommend strategic initiatives across BUs for organizational growth
- Identify opportunities and trends in the markets
- Identify levers for growth – new portfolio, inorganic options for growth, etc.
- Drive generation of insightful analysis including competition analysis through the development and application of tools and models to enhance the quality of decision making
- Support in developing business model of the organization basis market realities/ pre-empt the change
- Keep a close eye on the trends impacting healthcare sector
- Assess evolving needs of the business and develop action plan to remain ahead of the curve, vs responding to the situation.
- Provide incubation support to the new business and handhold it during initial phases
Education Qualification
Master’s degree in business management
Relevant Work Experience
6-8 years overall experience, with experience in Management consulting in tier 1/2 firms, Corporate Development in big-size pharma companies, and Corporate Project management in big-size pharma companies is good to have.
